Technical overhaul of the Lyfe health services platform

Welcome to the future of health management and support in terms of wellness and healthy aging with CNP Lyfe, the innovative platform that redefines user experience. In this exclusive video, let's dive into the behind-the-scenes of the project with Florian Blanquet, lead developer at Océane Consulting, and Kamel Azeg, Operations Director at Océane Consulting DM.

« The Lyfe project was implemented at Océane Consulting Data Management. The platform was previously based on a portal architecture with Liferay solution version 6.2 as its main component. »

Together, they share exclusive information about the platform's evolution and its impact on user experience.

« What drove CNP towards a technical redesign was its monolithic nature and the use of the Liferay software solution. This structure made modifications, updates and additions of new services long and unresponsive. »

Transition to an API Architecture

They shed light on the history of the Lyfe platform, a project initiated in 2015 based on a portal architecture. The central objective of the Lyfe platform is highlighted: to support users through different life stages, offering personalized services and information.

« The core target of Lyfe is mainly elderly people, the goal is to provide them with an information service at different levels :

  • Health information
  • Retirement information
  • Wellness information»

The transition to an API architecture was motivated by the need to increase responsiveness and flexibility, thus overcoming challenges linked to the old monolithic architecture.

« The benefit of migrating to an API architecture allows for better understanding of site administration and an improvement of the platform to make it more fluid and attractive for CNP and end users. Furthermore, migrating to an API architecture makes it possible to access external services to the site, with a single authentication. Let's take as an example: articles that are published on the site. It's a SaaS (external) service that integrates articles directly into the platform, no longer need to integrate these features into the new solution. »

Keys to Success and Future Perspectives

In this video they detail the organizational and technical challenges during the migration, emphasizing the need to maintain the existing service while developing the new architecture.

« The difficulty was to develop the new architecture while maintaining the old site so as not to interrupt the service. »

The graphic redesign and adoption of an API architecture have significantly improved user experience, with positive feedback from CNP.

« User feedback from the CNP side is very positive for the back office, and even regarding the front office, they are delighted with the new look of the site. »

Regarding the evolution of this project, Kamel shares in this video the next steps, particularly the move to the cloud and the integration of intelligent services based on artificial intelligence.
